Lorica spherical, dark yellowish brown and circular in apical view; lorica covered by radially arranged spines. The pore small and surrounded by a few small spines; in lateral view lorica sub-globose with radial spines of which the equatorial ones are longer; lorica, 15-21 µm in diameter with the spines up to 3-4 µm long; pore 1-2 µm broad.
